Adam Holmes is a Brooklyn based percussionist and composer. As an advocate for contemporary music and art, he co-founded Palladium Percussion, the avant-garde art collective, TACET, and new music sextet, Echo Chamber. He has had the privilege of working with many excellent composers including Ken Thomson, Wally Gunn, Fjola Evans, Alex Weiser, Molly Joyce, Pascal Le Boeuf, and others. Adam is enthusiastic about commissioning new works as well as composing music himself for a variety of ensembles and environments.
As a performer, Adam has had the privilege to share the stage with performers such as marimba virtuoso Eriko Daimo and pianist Marilyn Nonken, as well as members of Bang on a Can All-Stars, Alarm Will Sound, Sō Percussion, and the electronic music group Matmos. With Palladium and other ensembles, he has performed at a diverse array of venues and festivals such as Roulette, The DiMenna Center, Experiments in Opera, MuSE Sound & Art, PASIC, The Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art, The Clark Museum, and more.
Adam has spent summers at the Sō Percussion Summer Institute and the Bang On A Can Summer Music Festival as a percussion fellow. He has worked as an intern for Cadillac Moon Ensemble and Bang on a Can.
